### **Quick Facts**

Let's get on with some quick facts about WhatsApp Groups created on WhatsApp Business API:

1. Groups are invite-only.
   * Users are in control of whether to join the group or not; users join by clicking on the group invite link sent by businesses.
   * Users cannot be added into the group involuntarily.
2. Max group participants: 8.
3. Each group can include only 1 WhatsApp API contact.

   WhatsApp API account cannot join Groups API created by another API contact.
4. Groups API does not support these actions:
   * Hide group participant list
   * Edit/Delete message
   * Marking message as read
5. Groups API uses per-message pricing model,\
   e.g. in a group with 5 WhatsApp users,\
   5 delivered messages are charged for each recipients.

### **Prerequisites Conditions**

Not all WhatsApp Business API account are eligible to create and manage Groups API.&#x20;

To qualify for Groups API on your WhatsApp Business API, your business must either -

* Have a messaging limit of at least 100,000 business-initiated conversations in a rolling 24-hour period
* Be an [Official Business Account (OBA)](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/whatsapp/official-business-accounts)
